Mong Son Jsc., owning the Quartz mine located at Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province with area over 9 hectares, and a mining capacity of 20,000.00m3 per month. The main composition of the mine is amorphous quartz (95-99%) which is white in colour or semi transparent.
Owing to its high thermal and chemical stability and abundance, quartz is widely used in many large-scale applications related to the production of abrasives, foundry materials, refractory, addition copper, ceramics, cements, chemical carriers for vegetation protection medicine, fertilizer.
Quartz particles (sand, powder) are used as a polishing material, water purification technology, the manufacture of glass... and are an important material in semiconductor technology.
Quartz crystals have piezoelectric properties; they develop an electric potential upon the application of mechanical stress. Useful properties make quartz crystal essential for the production of electronic circuits, resonators and in piezoelectric material.
